During summer 2012 in the beautiful city of Helsinki, Ishtar had her first solo art exhibition. The Female Version consists of contemporary paintings of women who represent the stages of development she went through as a woman in exile. While she was too young to experience the hardship that her parents went through during the oppressive Baath regime in Iraq, she did live her childhood in of exile. The bleak, snow covered landscapes of the Finnish winter drove her to make the paintings as bold and as colourful as possible. These are the results of the colourless winters of Helsinki.
